The first step is to link your policy to a registered DAC. Start by selecting your desired DAC from the drop-down menu and adding the policy title. Next, you can choose to add an external URL where your terms and conditions are explained, or write the policy content directly on the DAC Portal. Keep in mind that only one of these two fields is mandatory, so you can choose to use one or the other, or both if you prefer.
You can also add Data Use Ontology (DUO) codes to your policies. These codes are used to specify the permitted and prohibited uses of the data, and they can help ensure that the data is being used in accordance with your policies. These codes are presented hierarchically, and you can easily collapse or expand the branches to select the code that best fits your policy
Some codes require a modifier to provide additional specificity. For example, disease specific (DUO:0000007) requires a MONDO ontology term to precisely identify which disease is being referred to as disease specificity may vary. To add a modifier click on .
After clicking it will open this box, where you will be able to add the modifier.
