In this tour, we will guide you through the process of creating a DAC and a policy, editing and deleting them, and managing data access requests. With the DAC Portal, you can streamline the process of granting access to sensitive data, ensuring that researchers have the necessary resources to advance scientific discovery while maintaining the highest standards of data protection and privacy. Let's go!
Upon landing on the main page of the DAC Portal, you will be able to view all of your registered DACs by default. This page provides a comprehensive overview of each DAC, including its EGA accessions (EGAC), title, status, and the number of data access requests associated with each DAC. With this intuitive interface, you can easily track the status of your DACs and efficiently manage data access requests.
Other than DACs (shown by default), you will find two other tabs: Policies, and Datasets. In each tab you will be able to check information related to each object type.
Here you can find all the shortcuts to the most useful pages in the DAC Portal. You can check your profile and specific metadata objects registered (i.e. DAC, policy, dataset). Need help? We've got you covered with a direct link to contact our Helpdesk team. Plus, customise your notifications through your User Preferences.
You have full control over the frequency of notifications for your pending requests. Additionally, notifications regarding DAC acceptance/rejection from the Helpdesk will be sent to you promptly upon resolution, ensuring you stay informed in real-time.
Back to the DACs! Each DAC is colour-coded to help you quickly identify your role and the status of the committee.
If Helpdesk declines a DAC, it will show as declined. By hovering your mouse over the declined DAC, you can view the message from Helpdesk containing the reason why the DAC was declined.
Click on the blue DAC to check the invitation and understand the requirements.
